This is what HeartLight stands for and I hope you
will read about it. The moment light entered my heart from an eternal perspective was a day in
1978. It was April 2nd to be exact. I had a major decision to make that
day before an entire group of people. This moment of receiving God's
light would mark my life
for eternity. Have I got your attention yet or do you already know what
I'm going to say? First, don't leave this page until you've read it
through. I pray it's impact will also be the greatest milestone that
ever happens in your life too. Please read on...
I clearly recall what started the decision to
make April 2, 1978 my milestone day. It happened the evening before just
as I was getting ready for bed. Nothing unusual about that. I was 15
yrs., old. The only thing out of the ordinary was that I could not
sleep. Earlier that day I had heard a true story about a young man who had
had an motorcycle accident and sadly he had missed making the
opportunity to create this all important milestone in his life. None of
us knows the day we will die. I knew at age 15 that I didn't know that
day nor the time. I simply couldn't get that story out of my mind that
evening.
I went to my mom and talked over my dilemma with her.
Unfortunately, she was busy at the time and didn't see the importance
that evening of why I was so troubled. Thankfully, by morning she did
understand. Mom said she would meet me at church for the morning service
after Sunday School. I needed her support and she recognized that. So
parents when your child has something pressing on their minds please
take the extra time to talk with them. It is one of the greatest gifts
you can give them. Now back to my story.
I felt a compulsion to make things right between Jesus
and myself that Sunday morning of April 2nd. I needed to make that
milestone decision before the congregation of my church at the time. I
didn't let anything stand in the way. When the service at church was
nearly over as a very bold teenager I walked up to Pastor Brunner and
told him "I want to be saved." He simply asked me if I believed that
Jesus died on the cross to forgive me of my sins. I said "Yes!" I knew
that Jesus and the cross were the only way to stop the struggle going on
inside of my heart. I had made the decision in front of everyone sitting
there so no one could say I was ashamed of my Savior Jesus Christ. I had
also acknowledged my sinful condition and accepted His saving grace. Do
you know what grace means? It's God's Redemption At Christ's Expense.
Never forget that. It will save your life if you apply it's meaning to
your heart. Believe me, I know!
All I ask now is this, if you ever feel a compulsion
to follow Jesus in asking Him to forgive your sins and come into your
heart you may write me. I'll gladly offer whatever counsel I can on
spiritual matters. I'm just a plain person who loves the Lord. I knew
also that this page had to be a part of my site. I want this site not
only to showcase my four Shelties, but to glorify my Lord.
Remember, it is appointed unto man or woman once to
die and after that the Judgment. Do not be caught unawares when Christ
calls you to give account of your life. It will be too late. Get your
Bible and look up this verse...John 3:16, I memorized it at age 9 and
recited it to my dad as I was so happy. My dad wasn't saved at the time
and I had no idea I was witnessing to him! My dad did later, after my
mom's death, receive Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. John 3:16
tells you how to make Christ your Savior...believe on Him. There are 18"
from your heart to your head or there about. Make the decision to close
that gap today and allow Christ into your heart. He stands at the door
of your heart and knocks. Please let him in and e-mail me when you do!
Every evening I see my dad reading his Bible. I read
mine in the morning. Doesn't matter when you read it as long as you do
and hide away it's treasures in your heart. God's Word will bring light
out of darkness. God's Word will give YOU eternal life if your apply
it's message of salvation to your heart!
I look forward to hearing from you!
