Here is Kelley CD CGC my other token
Border Collie. She is a total riot! We tried agility with her, but she
was so FAST that I couldn't keep up with her. She would jump the A Frame
rather than running up it and back down the other side. She never missed
the contacts on it.
As soon as my new scanner arrives I'll add
more photos to her page. She LOVES having her photo taken. Forgive me
that she isn't groomed in this photo. We had been outside playing and I
didn't have a brush handy.
Kelley loves water and swims like a duck,
hardly making a ripple on the water. I found that out that she loved
water at 4 months when she went running out into a pond and started
swimming like it was old hat. Newt hates the water and so do most of my
Shelties, except Chase.
Kelley did manage to earn her Companion
Dog title and her CGC. It's a wonder though. She heels jumping up and
down, but never leaving position. She barrels down the mat on the recall
towards me like a torpedo. I honestly think one time I closed my eyes
out of fear she was going to knock me down. What a hoot! You have to
love Kelley.
She does have one major draw back. Kelley
is scared to death of thunder. Thankfully, Kelley has learned to get in
the main bath's tub to hide from the clamps of thunder. We close the
door for her and turn on the fan to drowned out the sound. We have found
her curled up in the bathroom sink. Poor Kelley!
Kelley has natural ability in herding, but
due to a lack of sheep to train on and also having to deal with atypical
seizures she doesn't herd. Kelley's seizures are controlled by feeding
her 3x's a day. I learned that from a young Vet research student online
who told me to give the new feeding schedule a try and it worked!
